Admissions to secondary schools in 2024

The time for submitting applications to secondary schools is fast approaching and this year it will only be possible to submit applications until 20 February.

Although further changes to the application process and the possibilities of adapting the Unified Entrance Examination for migrant applicants are being prepared (including the abolition or limitation of certain exemptions for Ukrainian applicants with temporary protection), they will not yet be reflected in this year's admissions procedure and these measures will therefore remain practically identical to last year. Particularly:

the possibility to take the entrance exam without the Czech language exam and its replacement by an interview for pupils with temporary protection or for other applicants coming directly from a foreign primary school
applicants with temporary protection can now also choose to take the Czech language exam instead, with an automatic 25% increase in time
applicants with temporary protection have the option of taking the mathematics entrance exam in Ukrainian
other candidates with language barriers have the possibility to receive additional exam adaptation based on the recommendation of the pedagogical-psychological counselling centre
