Theory of change

We focus not only on addressing specific situations, but also on their root causes. This is why our activities aim to provide support to individual clients as well as to have a long-term positive impact on the whole society.

Our detailed theory of change describes how we respond to the current situation in the education of children with a different mother tongue and and the steps we plan to take to bring about positive change for society as a whole. The scheme illustrates the specific activities and outcomes that we are implementing or planning in order to move closer to the change we are striving for. At the same times, it shows how we monitor the impact of our activities. It is a complex representation of the current situation in the education of children with a different mother tongue and the paths we are taking to bring about change. The scheme shows our approach to work, our methodologies, and how we think about things. In a simplified form, it explains what is beyond our efforts, what our values and visions are, and what the purpose of our projects and initiatives is.

Responsible management of the organization and its finances

We prepare strategic plans for the entire organization and its individual teams. We regularly review and adjust our structure, internal processes, and procedures. Efficient and transparent financial management is essential to us. We regularly pass audits focused on the organization’s financial management and internal processes, as well as on project implementation and financial reporting.

Organizational assessment

As part of a project funded by the Česká spořitelna Foundation, META underwent an organizational assessment in autumn 2024 by Gov Lab, s. r. o., which revealed the following:

META, o. p. s. is an organization with strong strategic management, a high-quality and carefully cultivated internal culture, and an organizational structure that is effective and continuously adapted to new needs.

The organization has a powerful vision and shared identity.

The organization promotes an open culture with a high degree of psychological safety, which allows for critical internal discussions.

The organization has a great ability to bring innovation to its services and to come up with new solutions for the projects it works on.

Unstable funding and its continuity represent a challenge for META. The organization relies on ad hoc project funding. It seeks to diversify its portfolio of resources, but the possibilities are limited.
