META, o. p. s., has created state-of-the-art freely available online apps for students with other mother tongues who are learning Czech. The apps can be used in classes of Czech as a second language or for individual practice. They are adapted to students’ and teachers’ needs.
Extra classes are intended for META’s clients – students who are unable to fully engage in classes at school due to the language barrier and who use our counseling services in education.
Extra classes are provided by volunteers. The aim is to increase success in the Czech language and other school subjects.
The classes usually take place at META’s premises, at municipal libraries, or online, by individual agreement.
Volunteers can help clients prepare for exams, admission procedure, or the maturita exam.
Are you interested in taking our extra classes? If you use our professional social counseling in education, contact your social worker to learn more about the next steps.

Free-time activities organized by META are a platform where children (and sometimes adults) coming from various countries, including Czechia, can meet. Multilingual children are given an opportunity to interact with their peers regardless of their proficiency in Czech, games and different activities helping them naturally improve their language skills. Thanks to the activities that the culturally diverse group does together, all children, including those coming from Czechia, can better understand the language and tradition diversity and learn to respect other cultures, better communicate, and be empathetic. The events are also a great opportunity to discover interesting things to see around the place where we are currently living together.
Accessible and comprehensible information is essential to find one’s way around a new environment and education system, which is why we offer information support to immigrants.
Practical information about the Czech education system for parents of children with a different mother tongue, useful tips and tools to deal with real-life situations, important notices, and links to detailed information about the individual topics.
Bilingual sheets containing information about the most common situations that children with a different mother tongue and their parents face in education. Available in 11 languages.
